Spend our Money
If you had £100 to spend on the police, how would you spend it?
The survey aims to find out your policing priorities, based on how much or little you would spend on different categories, including car crime, anti-social behaviour and burglary.
Chair of the Police Authority, Councillor Russell Roberts, explained: “This survey gives you, the public, a chance to directly tell us what your policing priorities are. We face a very difficult financial future, with the possibility of big budget cuts. As a result, we want to know what your priorities are.
“The survey is quick, simple and anonymous. I cannot encourage you enough to visit our website and take part.”
The survey has also been seen in supermarkets across South Wales, with over 800 people taking part already.
The options you have to choose from are:
-
Visibility of Police Officers within your local areas.
-
Dealing with Anti Social Behaviour and Quality of Life issues in your local communities.
-
Tackling drug related crimes and targeting drug dealers.
-
Keeping South Wales safe from Terrorism and violent extremism.
-
Reducing and detecting violent crime.
-
Public Protection - reducing domestic abuse and ensuring the protection of vulnerable persons and children.
-
Preventing and detecting burglaries
-
Preventing and detecting car crime
-
Preventing and reducing gun crime within the South Wales area
The survey will be available for another month, when all the results will be collated and provided to the Police Authority and Chief Constable to help assist in setting priorities.
