New Police Authority Member
Councillor Jayne Woodman has been welcomed as a new Police Authority Member for Swansea.
Councillor Woodman, who is a Liberal Democrat councillor, representing the Uplands ward of the city, replaces Councillor Sue Waller-Thomas.
Speaking of her appointment, Councillor Woodman said: “I am delighted to have been named as the new Police Authority Member for Swansea. I am looking forward to joining the other 18 Members in helping to keep South Wales safe.
“I have joined during an interesting and demanding time for South Wales Police Authority. The financial constraints faced by the service are difficult, and will lead to a challenging time for all involved. However, I look forward to tackling this with my fellow Members.”
Chair of the Police Authority, Councillor Russell Roberts, said: “On behalf of the Authority, I welcome Jayne Woodman. I look forward to working with her, and am sure she will be an excellent representative for the city of Swansea. In welcoming Jayne, I must say a sad farewell and thank you to Sue Waller-Thomas, who has been an excellent Member over the last two years.”
