Police Authority Plan for Year Ahead
South Wales Police Authority has published its annual Corporate Plan, which sets out what we hope to achieve in the next twelve months.
The Corporate Plan sets out the key themes the Authority will cover next year – Collaboration, Community Engagement, Equality, Forward Planning, Performance, Quality of Service and Value for Money.
Chair of the Police Authority, Councillor Russell Roberts, said: “The last year has been one of exciting change and good progress for our Authority and Force. Our aim is to continue this journey for the next 12 months.
“During the last year we have seen good progress in terms of levels of public confidence and decreasing crime. In the last year there have been nearly 14,000 less crimes, compared to the previous year, which is equal to 37 fewer victims every day. It is particularly pleasing to see the burglary level reduce by over16% - which means that there are five less burglaries every day.
“However, as an Authority, we must not be complacent. One of our key themes for the year is performance, and ensuring that crime carries on falling.”
Chief Executive of the Police Authority, Alan Fry, said: “This is a vital document for the Authority and sets out what we want to achieve over the next 12 months.
“Our objectives highlight our commitment to ensuring an efficient and effective police service in South Wales. In briefing we want continuous improvement and real value for money from our policing service.”
