Welsh Language Scheme
Wales is a nation with a richness of heritage and culture that is second to none. Our language is a source of great pride to us and the fact that numbers and learners are increasing year on year makes it essential that organisations do all that they can to meet the needs and expectations of Welsh language users.
We have given a clear commitment that in the conduct of public business and the administration of justice in Wales, the police service will treat the English and Welsh languages on a basis of equality.
This scheme explains how we will meet this commitment, by promoting and facilitating the use of the Welsh language both within the workplace and at the point of service delivery. This scheme sets out the targets we have set ourselves in order to improve our standards of service.
