South Wales Police Authority

Partnerships Policy

Partnerships Policy

The Authority recognises that partnership working is a valuable way of sharing resources, knowledge, skills and effort in order to achieve common goals.

It is this that the Authority will aim for whenever entering into and continuing within a partnership.

The Police Authority therefore recognises partnership to be a joint working arrangement where partners:

  • Work co-operatively to achieve a common goal
  • Work as a separate structure to achieve this goal, meaning that all organisations involved form a new structure with equal standing for all partners
  • Plan and implement a jointly agreed programme to achieve common goals
  • Share relevant information, resources and knowledge in order to achieve their aims
  • Jointly consider risk issues associated with their work and appropriately address them
