2010-11 Donations

Donation
A total of 37 applications were received for donations from the Police Property Act Fund in 2010-11.
 
The theme for this years donations would be “targeting the fear of crime”.  The following groups were successful.
 

Bridgend

 
  • Nantymoel Boys and Girls Club - £2000 – for equipment for the boys and girls club, plus repair alarm system
  • Wildmill Youth Club - £1895 – to design and make a mosaic mural to be mounted on the youth club wall.
 

Cardiff

 
  • Butetown Youth Pavilion - £2470.24 – for in-house diversionary programme for young people in Butetown
  • Cardiff West Neighbourhood Watch Association  - £1,500 – to purchase of neighbourhood watch street signs to act as a deterrent to burglars; plus purchase of personal attack alarms for elderly and vulnerable.
  • South Wales Intercultural Community Arts - £2500 – for costs of carnival arts workshops towards the Cardiff MAS Carnival
 

Merthyr Tydfil

 
  • Merthyr Tydfil Neighbourhood Watch Association - £2500 - funding to upgrade the ringmaster system
  • Pant & Dowlais Boys and Girls Club - £1457.94 - Funding for two new pool tables for large youth club in MT.
  • The Pad - £2000 - Rewards, training and activities as part of a pilot ‘time banking scheme’ project
 

Neath Port Talbot

 
  • 499 (Port Talbot) Squadron Air Training Corps - £1,081 - Develop recruitment packs to promote the activities of the squadron to local young people.
  • Afan Tawe Nedd Neighbourhood Watch Association - £2,086.21 – to provide security items to vulnerable members of the community, such as door chains, locks and intercoms
  • Briton Ferry YMCA - £1000 – to purchase games consoles for the youth club
  • Cwmavon & District Boys and Girls Club - £2,200 – to help pay for the minibus to assist in travelling and help towards the cost of the training facilities
 

Rhondda Cynon Taf

 
  • LGBT Support Network - £2000 – to purchase equipment to assist in presentations to local education places
  • RCT People First - £2225 - Training of people with a learning disability to be able to deliver training about disability hate crime.  Design a training pack for groups across the community
  • Ultimate Stage Company - £500 - Repayment of public liability insurance, to enable cover for taking children on outside trips. 
 

Swansea

 
  • Gorseinon Juniors RFC - £2500 - Training equipment and initiate new teams
  • Gwent Amateur Boxing & Sporting Club - £2,500 - Fitting of shutters to the club
  • Morriston AFC - £2,159.07 - Football and training kit
  • Street Football Wales - £1150 - Costs of hiring venue for football match days for homeless people once each month for the 2011/12 season.
  • Swansea Silver Rhythmaires Marching Band - £2000 - Cost of purchasing new uniforms for the band
  • Ty Fforest Community House - £2496 - Payment for a youth worker and volunteers expenses for assistance in running the youth club.
 
*No applications for grants were received from the Vale of Glamorgan
