A total of 115 applications were received for a donation from the Police Property Act Fund in 2008.
The theme for the grants was helping to combat anti-social behaviour by providing facilities/assistance for young people. The successful recipients were:

WILDMILL COMMUNITY LIFE CENTRE – £200 – to purchase equipment to start a gymnastics club for young people.

BULLIESOUT - £500 – To provide hands, paints and poem cards for children during an anti-bullying week in Cardiff. The money will pay for the packs to remind them of the day.
THE DOME, PENTWYN YOUTH CENTRE - £400 - The grant will be used to set up a 10 week anti-social awareness course for young people. This will involve the young people learning about the negative effects of anti-social behaviour.
MINISTRY OF LIFE - £350 - It is a youth events programme that operates on a monthly basis. A youth café runs and guest performances are invited to perform beat boxing, singing, dance, rapping, DJing and other street based arts. The money will be used to help the nights.
SATURDAY CLUB - £300 - To improve resources and widen the choices available to extend the existing opportunities and purchase games etc.
CARDIFF KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE - £200 - To obtain a set of 30 training jackets to be worn by our students when representing or supporting our club.
PENTWYN DYNAMOS FC - £200 - Training facilities – football nets, training aids, etc.
WHITCHURCH RANGERS FC - £200 - Contribute towards rain jackets for the children and help to pay for winter training facilities.

BEDLINOG LEISURE ASSOCIATION - £750 – to help pay for tutor costs and hall hire for a local dance group, which has 22 young people.
LINKING HANDS ACROSS THE WORLD - £725 - To further develop links and hosting a party of learners and educators from Eqinisweni School in July 2009

PORT TALBOT & DISTRICT AMATEUR OPERATIC YOUTH THEATRE - £195 - To purchase a suitable portable keyboard to be used for our community functions.
SNAC (SPECIAL NEEDS ACTIVITY CLUB) - £195 - To provide sports equipment that will both stimulate and enhance the well being of young people that attend the centre.
VELINDRE COMMUNITY SCHOOL - £195 – to purchase of crockery, refurbishment of pool table, initial start up costs of Friends Group.

ALISON HOUSE YOUTH & PLAY PROJECT - £268 - Young people have expressed an interest in designing a mural and this grant would enable us to run a project with a local artist to design and paint a mural in the main kitchen area.
BLAENLLECHAU COMMUNITY REGENERATION - £268 - to continue operating its minibus service to provide a safe means of transport to and from its drop-in provision.
CLWB IEUNCTID Y CYMER - £268 - The money would be used in training the members of the committee in team building, reaching decisions and democracy.
CYNON VALLEY CHURCH YOUTH DEPT - £268 - to purchase the multi-media equipment that we need to modernise our teaching style
GOING4GOLD - £268 - to complete our Gold Award next year visiting South Africa for 1 month which will involve volunteering work in orphanages.
MISKIN CRIME & SAFETY GROUP - £268 - To do a video project with young people which will focus on the consequences young people will be faced with if they were caught committing a criminal offence.

ST CYRES SCHOOL - £700 – to start the Duke of Edinburgh award for the group & Operation Clean Swoop – a community based project to clean the routes to school of litter and graffiti.
BARRY BEAVERS DISABLED SWIMMING CLUB - £375 - To help pay for the club to hoist a gala next year, for our club and for other clubs to come and join in.
