To ensure the smooth running of the custody visiting scheme, we have a set of guidelines.
These set out what is expected of a custody visitor, and what assistance and support the Police Authority will provide.
Every custody visitor must agree to work within the guidelines, and sign a code of conduct. The agreement is reviewed every three years, in line with the review of the appointment.
Copies of the guidelines are kept in each custody unit, for reference if needed.
