Treasury Management Policy Overview
Treasury Management is defined, as: “the management of the organisation’s investments and cash flows, its banking, money market and capital market transactions; the effective control of the risks associated with those activities; and the pursuit of the optimum performance consistent with those risks”.
This definition is intended to apply to all public sector organisations in their use of capital and project financings, borrowings and investments.
The Code applies to all organisations that have adopted it as part of their standing orders, financial regulations or other formal policy documents appropriate to their circumstances.
