Equality Scheme Annual Progress Reports

South Wales Police Authority is committed to working for equality and fairness for everyone.

We work to ensure that respect for equality and diversity is evident and promoted in all that we do.

Equality and the Protected Characteristics

It is a fundamental principle that the Authority should strive to ensure that those who work or have dealings with us are treated fairly and with respect and that they are not discriminated against because of any of the protected characteristics defined under the Equality Act 2010:

  • Age
  • Disability (including physical, mental, sensory and learning disabilities)
  • Gender (including men, women and transsexual/transgender people)
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Marriage or Civil Partnership
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  • Race (including race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin)
  • Religion and belief
  • Sexual Orientation

In Wales, we also recognise the Welsh Language as a strand of equality.
