Managing on Less - February 2011

Managing on Less Consultation Results

During January – February 2011, South Wales Police Authority carried out the ‘Managing on Less’ public survey.

South Wales Police and Authority are facing big financial challenges over the next few years. As part of the public spending cuts, the Government has reduced our budget and the force will have a £47million deficit by the end of 2015, with 85% of savings needing to be made in the next two years.

This survey aimed to ascertain the views of the public on the financial issues, in particular council tax. It also aimed to gather views on some policing issues, in particular communications, priorities and police station usage. In addition, it was used to ascertain the current level of awareness in relation to the police reform proposals of the Government.
