Terms of Reference
1. To implement arrangements for the appointment of a Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable, Assistant Chief Constable and civilian Chief Officers as may be determined by the Authority.
2. To carry out the selection process, including shortlisting, interviewing and negotiation of conditions of service.
3. To make the appointment on behalf of the Authority.
4. To provide a forum for discussion of any relevant issues with the Force Staff Associations, either collectively or separately, when required to do so.
5. To interview shortlisted candidates for the post of Independent Member on the Authority and to make recommendations thereon to the Police Authority.
6. To interview candidates for the posts of Independent Representatives on the Standards Committee and Misconduct Panels and to make recommendations thereon to the Police Authority.
7. To consider any reviews necessary to the Members Allowances, Travel & Subsistence Scheme for recommendation to the Authority.
8. To consider any reviews necessary of remuneration levels payable to Police Authority staff and Force Chief Officers for recommendation to the Authority.
