Terms of Reference
1. To hear and determine, on behalf of the Authority, any appeals against dismissal lodged by police staff.
2. To provide a panel of Members who may be required to sit on Police Appeals Tribunals.
3. To hear, adjudicate in and decide matters concerning the forfeiture of police pensions under the Police Pensions Regulations 1987.
4. To hear and determine, on behalf of the Authority, any appeals from officers (both police officers and police staff) against decisions arrived at by the Chief Constable in determining whether a business interest is compatible with an officer’s duties.
5. To hear and determine appeals on grievances/complaints against civilian Chief Officers, both of the Force and the Authority.
(Note: Members on the Appeals Panel cannot sit on the Quality of Service Group due to potential conflict of interest)
