South Wales Police Authority is an independent body, made up of local people, who police your police service.

We carry out our role through a number of Groups, each responsible for different areas of policing, such as performance, planning and equalities.
South Wales Police Authority performs many of its duties through meetings.  Members of the Authority meet with Officers either in full on a regular basis or within smaller, more specialist area groups on a quarterly basis.

Meetings of the Authority are open to the public, except when items of a confidential nature are discussed. Members of the public can ask questions within meetings of the full Authority, in line with our ‘have your say’ scheme. Click here for more information.
