Protective Services

The Police Authority has a statutory duty to consult on protective services.
 
This is a new area of work, and so a short questionnaire was used to ascertain levels of understanding.
 
Only 35 people took part in the survey, so further research is required on this.
 
The results found:
 
  • 47% said they had a fairly high understanding of what protective services was, with other half of people recognising what each of the strands of protective services were

 

  • The vast majority of people – 86% - said that counter terrorism and domestic extremism should be a high or fairly high priority for South Wales Police
