100 days and counting…: More Information
                         
There are now just 100 days until the biggest shake up to policing in 40 years.
 
On 15 November, a Police and Crime Commissioners, or PCC, will be elected in each police area in Wales and England, and replace the Police Authority.

Nominations can still be made for the 2012 Community Safety Volunteer of the Year from South Wales Police Authority.
 
The awards, which are in their eighth year are for anyone who volunteers to keep their local community safe, for example youth club leaders or neighbourhood watch volunteers.

John Littlechild MBE JP has been selected as the final Chair of South Wales Police Authority.
 
Mr Littlechild, from Cardiff, will be the Chair until 21 November, when the Police Authority will be replaced by the first Police and Crime Commissioner.

Anne Abel has been named as the first female Vice-Chair of South Wales Police Authority.
 
Ms Abel, from Cross Inn, Rhondda Cynon Taf, has been an Independent Member on the Authority since 2008, and has also been named as the lead for Equalities and Human Resources issues.
