Complaints Policy

South Wales Police Authority takes all complaints seriously.

A complaint can be made by anyone who feels they have been treated unfairly either by Officers, staff, Authority Members, service provided or even a decision or policy.

The Authority is not responsible for investigating complaints about Police Officers under the rank of Assistant Chief Constable, or members of Police Staff.

The policy below sets out our commitment to the fair investigation of any complaints received.

Complaints Policy Relating to the Control and Direction of a Police Force


South Wales Police Authority has adopted the Home Office Guidance relating to the  Handling of Complaints Relating to the Direction and Control of the Police Force by a Chief Officer.
